Brooklyn Health Center, Inc. (SBHC) is a not for profit ambulatory health
care facility licensed under Article 28 of the New York State Public Law.
Established in 1968, the Health Center has served the Red Hook Community and
the surrounding neighborhood of Community Planning Board 6. Located in what
was once Red Hook’s Pioneer Theater, the Health Center has been at 120
Richards Street, Brooklyn, New York since 1973.
In January 1997, SBHC became an affiliate of New York Methodist Hospital, which is part of the New York Presbyterian Network. New York Methodist Hospital is a 600-bed facility in Brooklyn’s historic Park Slope section.
The South Brooklyn Health Center's affiliation with New York Methodist Hospital allows our patients access to one of the largest health care networks in the United States.
